Care for the people who rescue others

An event on preventing burnout for specialists took place at the Return Centre for Mental Health.
Professional burnout is one of the hardest challenges for people in helping professions. Police psychologists and medical staff work every day under a heavy emotional load.
To prevent burnout and restore inner resources, we held a practical session that combined psychological relief and art therapy. The method was making one’s own perfume. With specialists guiding them, participants learned the basics of aromachology and composed their own scents.
This art method can lower cortisol, steady the emotional state through the senses, wake up creative thinking, and open new sources of inspiration.
The event had a warm, therapeutic atmosphere. Participants could step away from daily tasks, share experience, and take away a tool for self-regulation. Thank you to our colleagues for their professionalism, resilience, and willingness to keep growing.
